Daniel P. Akin, Ph.D., M.D.

Dr. Akin received his B.A. in Zoology in 1967, his Ph.D. in Gross Anatomy in 1971, and his M.D. in 1973 from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana, and Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. He did his residency in General Surgery from 1968--1969 and in Otorhinolaryngology from 1975-1978 at Indiana University Medical Center and Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Dr. Akin received his Board Certification in 1978 from the American Board of Otolaryngology. He has maintained this certification by meeting the Continuing Education requirements. He has Fellow status in the American College of Surgeons, American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, and American Academy of Facial Plastic Reconstructive Surgery. He has Fellow status in the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, American College of Surgeons, and American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. He also has professional memberships in the American Medical Association, Indiana State Medical Association, Floyd County Medical Society, Indiana ENT Medical Society, and American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, American Society of Outpatient Surgeons, American College of Surgeons, and American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
